What life was like then...
KS1 History, English, and Geography cross-curricular local topic resources, with opportunities for developing Oracy practice. Using local sources of prose and poetry to explore changes  in the Forest of Dean, 1830's and 1930's compared to life today. A prompt for creative writing and/or in-class own research e.g. interviewing older family members.
These resources were developed and piloted with Ms Kennedy and Year 3 pupils at St John's C of E Academy, Coleford during Summer Term 2023-4.
The programme of teaching & learning included a class visit to, and workshops at, Dean Heritage Centre.
The children put on a 'showcase' event at the end of term for parents and carers to share their learning.
The scheme uses writing by Catherine Drew (1784-1867) and Joyce Latham (1932-2007).
